Ross tells the story of the four extraordinary years that Michelangelo spent painting the twelve thousand square foot ceiling, creating a magnificent picture of day-to-day life on the Sistine scaffolding and of the turbulent life outside, in the upheaval of early sixteenth-century Rome.
